International Sales Booster (ISB) Increase on Free Listings

In Germany, France, Italy and Spain, insertion fee allowances for the European Sales Booster programme have been updated. International Sales Booster (ISB) is a program created between eBay and our partner, WebInterpret.

What’s changing?

European Sales Booster will expand the number ZIF (zero insertion fee) listings

Freemium version users:

  • Featured shop — from 500 to 2000 listings per site;
  • Anchor shop — from 750 to 4000 listings per site.

Paid version users: moving down from 30K per site to 20K per site.

The current European Sales Booster will expand the number of listings with Zero Insertion Fee (ZIF): sellers will be able to list around 4 times their current number of items, for free. Featured shop sellers will be increased from 500 to 2000 listings per site and Anchor shop seller from 750 to 4000 listings per site.

The total number of free listings (ZIF) on the paid version of the programme is moving down from 30K per site to 20K per site.

20K is the limit on the ZIF promotion eBay provides to all ESB sellers (free and paid). 2000-4000 will be the limits that WebInterpret will impose on within the free program.

New order number format

Easier order management with updated order numbers.

What’s changing?

Starting in summer 2019, we'll introduce a more user-friendly order number format. We'll attach the updated order numbers to each transaction on eBay, which will follow the transactions through their entire life cycles. The updated order numbers will appear in the “order details” section of your View Order Details page, Seller Hub, reports, emails, APIs, post-transaction records, and other locations over time, so you can efficiently track and manage your orders.

What you need to know:

User-friendly order numbers will help:

  • sellers track and trace orders for easier reconciliation;
  • buyers track their order information;
  • eBay provide better customer support for buyers and sellers.

This unique identifier for each order will be used for managed and non-managed payments.

How to use:

We'll support the updated order number format in the new version of our APIs and continue to support order numbers in our current API for backward compatibility. Sellers and developers will need to upgrade to the new version of our APIs to get the new order format and align with details that will be displayed in the user experience. You will see the same information in both the user experience and new version of the APIs that buyers see on their email receipts and in other user experience flows.

Item Location Misrepresentation

To make sure buyers have a clear understanding of postage costs and delivery times, we require all our sellers to provide clear and accurate information in their listings about where their item is located.

What’s changing?

The change means that all sellers are now required to select a postal option that matches the item’s location. Sellers are no longer able to create new listings or revise listings where the item location and postal service don’t match. In addition, identified Good ‘Til Cancelled listings won’t renew further and will be ended in June.

What you need to know:

Last month, we announced our new enforcement measures against listings and sellers who do not comply with our Item Location Misrepresentation policy. It’s important for sellers to accurately state the location of their items so that buyers can use eBay’s search filters to correctly select listings based on location. When this doesn’t happen, it creates an unfair marketplace for sellers and a disappointing and potentially misleading experience for buyers.

How to use:

In the item location section of your listing, you should clearly specify the city, state (where applicable) and country that you're selling from.

You should also make sure that all the information in your listing matches — for example, any mention of the item location in the item description, needs to be the same as that in the item location field.

More EU initiatives

  • “New Other” changes to “Opened — never used” in selected categories.

In June 2019 for United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain the “New — other” item condition label will be renamed “Opened — never used” within Electronics and Musical Instruments categories. Item in excellent, new condition with no wear may be missing the original packaging.

  • Terapeak, a market research tool that helps you find out what to sell, when to sell and at what price, will now be included in your Shop subscription.

In addition to US store subscribers Terapeak will be a free benefit for shop subscribers in United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain. It is also planned to be integrated in Seller Hub by September.
